What
would you swap your current car for?
A billion dollars! Currently it’s a Volvo XC90 four-wheel drive, but it
changes a lot as I’m sponsored by a dealer – Bilia
Volvo. Oh, and an Aston Martin would also
do.
Who would you swap
your current partner for?
I wouldn’t swap her for anything or anyone. Sorry to sound boring but I
wouldn’t. We’ve been together
for fifteen years and Sandy and I are perfect
for each other. Also, she said I could
have my new trials bike AND keep the old
one. Plus she let me go trials riding on
her birthday while she went out to work.
Why would I want to swap someone like that!?
What was your last
nightmare about?
I don’t ever have nightmares really.
What do you dream of?
Winning the World Superbike Championship.
What was the nastiest thing anyone has ever done to
you?
When I was a kid I had my riding gear stolen and it felt like it was the end
of the world!
What’s
the nicest thing you have ever done for
someone else?
I’ll have to ask Sandra that! She says laying the paving stones at my Mum’s
new house or the charity toy run I did
last Christmas. I do too many nice things
to remember them all.
Compare yourself
to a type of food…
Pasta, because it’s good for endurance
and I always keep on going.
Compare yourself
to a Superhero…
Superman. I am built pretty tough and although
I’ve had a good few spills,
I don’t seem to break bones like other people. Hope that doesn’t
put the mockers on me!
What’s your favourite saying?
It’s your shout!
What film role would suit you best?
Steve McQueen is my favourite actor so his role in either The great Escape or
On Any Sunday.
What are your
top two career moments?
Winning the Australian Superbike Championship
in 1999 – I entered the last
race needing just five points but I qualified
on pole and won both races at Eastern Creek
so I did it in style!!
The second would be my first WSBK podium at Valencia in 2004. After breaking
down in the first race on the last lap when I was in third place, it just about
made up for it when I came third in the second race in the dry.
