Steve, good luck with your tests and the 1st race in Qatar from the Mount Eliza Cycling Group!
By the way, my SPS is up on the sissor lift waiting for "treatment"... I have a parts manual, so can list all the broken bits. I am looking forward to taking all the broken bits off - might not look so depressing then!
Hope to see you when you are back in Oz again.
Cheers Milan

well done in Qatar Steve
Am looking forward to seeing you blasting around Phillip Island
The pushie group had a bit of a stack on Saturday morning - a not-so-regular slipped in the wet (rider error?) and took 3 others out as well. Nothing serious, but a few cuts and bruises. Didn't impact on the BBQ - was good fun and shame you couldn't make it.
Hope to see you when you are back.

Hi Steve, was devastated at the news that your sponsor pulled out! Man, what a way to do it! Unbelievable.
Wish I knew how to help.
I am keeping my fingers crossed that you can find a new team.
Get on the pushie - it is very therapeutic...
Take care Milan and the rest of the Mt Elza gang

It always hits like a ton of bricks, Steve...you've really been unlucky and it's devastating news.
I've posted info on my site and forum, that way everyone in the World Endurance world will know you're available and snap you up immediately!

Was so looking forward to seeing you at Donington - hopefully we still will, but it won't be the same.
Hope something turns up for you or it's a complete waste of talent - they must have lost the plot!!!
Take care of yourselves.

I spent some time this morning searching for a few people I used to go to High School with to try to catch up. Lo and behold I found out that I knew someone before they were famous...Steve Martin! Sounds like life has treated you fairly bloody well mate! Ok not Wayne Gardener great but it seems you're very underrated from what I've read.
I found some photo's of you that bought back memories on the Cafe Racer Club site. One of you on your first sponsored bike with the front wheel up against the stobie pole outside your house and it was a deja vu moment. You never could keep two wheels on the ground and I doubt you do today still!
Life sounds fantastic, you have a little boy and you even found a woman who could put up with you! Just kidding, you always were so nice! I have a little boy too, though mine's nearly two & a half years old. I'm still living in little ole Adelaide though I did spend some time interstate and in Port Lincoln working for the government. Hope you remember me, I don't think we really met through school but rather through your sister and one of her friends Cheryl Driver.
Anyway, I was really pleased to see you ended up living your dream. You were always a really great guy and if anyone deserved it you did.
Take care and good luck for the future!
Samantha Skinner

Hi Steve alais Kevin Bacon HEEEE. Well here's another blast from the good ol' PVHS after stumbling across your web site and reading Samantha Skinner's post, I thought it would be great to say CONGRATULATIONS on your huge success. After seeing Samantha'post you must have been a bit freaked out, well do you recall the Nic and Nita groovers? Rob Trice alerted me to your fantastic life story a few years ago.The funny thing is Mike Keeble was meant to make the olympics on the veladrom. Ol Vagnerelli (English teacher )would be proud of you heee. Well done Steve and good luck to you and your family. Cheers Anita Matthews ( Morrison )PVHS '85 WE ALL ROCKED:

Nic's brother Rob Trice alerted me to your fantastic life story a few years ago.He is still in Roxby with wife and 2 girls showing them how to be dirt bike lovers.Nic is married with 1 child, I've been seperated for the past 18mnths with 2 boys. One nearly 13 and the other 11yrs.Nic and I are both Registered nurses- SAVING LIVES HEEEE.Who would have thought? As Samantha posted, I too recall a young teen - ager riding his trail bike up a stoby pole out side his house,so I like her ( and hi Samantha!)knew you had bigger things to come. The funny thing is Mike Keeble was meant to make the olympics on the veladrom. O'l Vagnerelli (English teacher )would be proud of you - heee. Well done Steve and good luck to you and your family. Cheers Anita Matthews ( Morrison )PVHS '85 WE ALL ROCKED: |
