After making a good impression at the Eurospeedway round of the World Superbike Championship on 8/9 September, Team Celani has confirmed that Steve Martin will ride for the team at the next round at Vallelunga on 29/30 September.
The Australian rider will replace Alessandro Polita who is still recovering from an operation on his shoulder. The team and Martin will then make a decision on collaborating for the final round of the championship at Magny Cours in France.
Steve commented, "I am happy to be riding for Team Celani again this weekend as I had fun with the guys at Lausitz and I also think the bike has some unlocked potential which I hope to release at Vallelunga. I don’t know the circuit but as long as it's dry it won't take long to get up to speed."
Steve also competed in the Bol D'or 24 hour race with Yamaha Austria two weeks ago where he was leading Pirelli and in outright third position after the third hour, before unfortunately only five hours into the race the bike stopped.
"It was disappointing not to finish the race but once again the team did a great job and only reliability let us down," Steve concluded.
