After starting my racing career many years ago in South Australia I soon learnt how tough it was to get noticed and get financial help to live the dream. I was approached by my first racing club (www.caferacerclub.com) with the idea of boosting South Australian racing.

From there, the Steve Martin Cup was introduced and provides a competitive class for all riders up to B-grade standard. The winner will be considered South Australia’s new Rising Star. This cup will be conducted within the Unlimited Solo field and provides riders the chance to race with the best racers South Australia has to offer...

This will allow competitive fields over the life of the Cup. The series prizes will vary from year to year but the aim is to assist the winner to pursue the Australian Championship in the following year.
